Olive Oil v/s Coconut Oil | Winter Care | Oil for SKIN | Oil for Winters | Benefits of OILS

                                                       Olive Oil v/s Coconut Oil

There have been several debates about which of these two oils are better for consumption in our diet and there are diversified views about it.

Here I am going to talk about the efficacy of Olive Oil v/s Coconut Oil, as beauty oil for Skin. When I talk of coconut oil we mean oil extracted from fresh Coconut meat after separating the milk and water, and not of the oil extracted from dried coconut, sometimes using chemical procedures.

SKINCARE:

Coconut Oil is easily absorbed by the skin. It goes deep into the skin which can help in healing acne scars, but this absorbent nature of coconut oil leaves the surface of the skin dry which can be bad for flaky skin. But if you have Oily Skin then this oil can work wonders as the skin sends signals of being moisture which decrease the skins natural oil production or Sebum production.

Whereas, Olive Oil has high amount of antioxidants and it is also more moisturizing, so for dry skin, which is not very porous this makes for great beauty oil. It smoothens cuticles, cracked heals feet, dark elbow and knees and dry arms and legs. It keeps the skin smooth and soft. But for oily Skins, Olive oil should be avoided as it may cause acne because of its coating layers.

So, I would recommend that for skin hydrating we should first apply coconut oil so that it penetrates deep into the skin and repairs them whereas the second layer of olive oil can help to retain the moisture of the skin by not allowing the moisture to escape making the skin soft and smooth.
