Petroleum Jelly for Winters (Skin Care)

As winters are fast approaching, we have to take care for the dryness of our skin. During winters, our skin tends to lose moisture and so they develop cracks and blemishes.

Basically our skin gets moisture from the deep layers of the skin. There is a constant flow of moisture from lower layer to upper layer. This is called “trans-epidermal moisture loss”. Our outermost skin layer comprises of cells which are filled with hydro-scopic material which are cemented in place with complex mixture of lipids. These cells and lipids hold on to some of the moisture coming from the lower layer of the skin and keep our skin soft and pliable.

(Here is an Amazing Moisturizing Face Scrub for WINTERS, just scrub your face with this and then Apply Petroleum Jelly and now you can really see the gorgeous SKIN)

When our skin is exposed to the rough weather, conditions such as dry air, sunlight and other polluting items, our skin looses there lipids, which results in our skin not being able to hold on the moisture being supplied by the  lower layer. This causes skin dryness.

Petroleum jelly is an effective tool to combat the above problems. This Petroleum jelly does not get does not get absorbed in the skin but fill in the lipid holes and thereby allowing the moisture from the lower layers to stay so that there is reduced loss of moisture. This result in skin getting hydrated and hold on to the moisture coming from lower layer, resulting in skin getting oft.

Petroleum Jelly can also be used to soften our feet. For this, soak your feet in warm water added with some salt. Then thoroughly  towel dry your feet. Apply Petroleum Jelly on your feet and wear clean cotton socks to lock in the moisture. This results in your feet being soft during the winters
